About Cara

Mother, wife, business owner.

Empathic, a searcher and lover of people and their stories. A mediator. A solution-oriented peacemaker. A straightforward business woman. I empower those around me by sharing what I know through experience.

A woman who lost her mother to brain cancer. Healing and processing. A yoga teacher discovering a larger voice. I have a deep desire to create, build and connect values to drive the equal treatment of all people. A fighter for kindness. I push for the education on subjects we don’t believe exist; but do. Reality checker. Loyal and fierce friend.

I started practicing Yoga in Boulder, CO when I was 18. My friend convinced me to sweat for 90 minutes in a Hot Yoga class. I almost passed out from pain AND joy, and never looked back.

I fell in love with the way it made me feel. Clear, light, relaxed and connected.

Since then, I have explored a myriad of different styles and teachers; taking bits and pieces from all backgrounds. After college I worked as a personal assistant for Ralph Lauren in NYC and practiced Jivamukti Yoga daily.

During that time, my mother became ill with brain cancer and passed away 8 months later. I moved onto a sailboat for 2 years to be in nature and work through it and for my entire process of healing Yoga was always at my side... I would literally practice on the bow of the boat; whenever I had the chance. From there, I moved back to Colorado and discovered CorePower Yoga; the pace and heat really matched what I needed physically and mentally at that point in my practice and life. Though there are 170 studios now, there were just 2 studios at that time. I am now the co-owner of the Central Coast CPY Franchise and deeply love our community here in Santa Barbara. I have been teaching for 13 joy filled years through the calm and the crazy.

The people are, of course, the best part. I feel fortunate to dig into the depths of these experiences and share with you.

Cara Ferrick and family

I have 2 wonderful boys, ages 2 and 7, and a loving hubby who supports me in my endeavors. I’ve been through loss, trauma and challenging situations. I have worked hard to get to where I am today. I am the co-owner of a CorePower Yoga Franchise on the Central Coast and live in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara, CA. I really do love people and feel I am a conscious business woman. I want to teach others all that I know to support their growth. There is more to come, lots to learn, and I look forward to this next ride on the REAL SHEET. The next adventure.

Thanks for coming along for the ride! We will learn from each other.
